How to Switch Lenses on a DSLR/Mirrorless

Hey folks, today we’ll be covering how to swap the lens on your DSLR/mirrorless camera. So, let’s jump right into it.

Removing a Lens

Removing a lens is super easy.

  1. Push the small button on the side of the lens mount.
  2. Twist the lens towards the top/center of the mount. Don’t force it (it should be smooth).
  3. That’s it.

Mounting a Lens

  1. The back/bottom of your lens should have a small dot (typically red, blue, or white).
  2. Align that dot with the (typically white) dot on your camera mount.
  3. Twist the lens (gently) until it clicks into place.
